Environmental sustainability is one of the strategic pillars of NOVOMATIC Italia’s growth strategy.
Through the Going Green program, the company promotes a model of responsible development that combines innovation, energy efficiency, and respect for the environment. Our commitment translates into concrete actions aimed at reducing the environmental impact of our business operations, increasing the energy self-sufficiency of our buildings, and fostering a culture of sustainability among employees and stakeholders.
A commitment for future generations
Environmental sustainability is a core value of NOVOMATIC, not only in Italy but worldwide, and for years the Group's Annual Report has been reporting on consumption with a view to promoting energy saving and reducing emissions. The Group pursues a model of sustainable development that cares for the Planet and complies with the principles of eco-sustainability, by saving corporate impacts and creating value for the benefit of future generations, in line with the ESG parameters outlined by the EU.
NOVOMATIC's environmental strategy, in addition to strict compliance with relevant regulations, is guided by the following principles

The Group's aspiration is to raise awareness and respect throughout the value production chain, to ensure that the level of attention to the ecosystem and sustainable use of resources increases in daily and business choices.
The solar power project
One of the most significant initiatives under the Going Green program is the solar panel installation program, which aims to increase the use of renewable energy and reduce CO₂ emissions. Two systems are currently operational at the Rimini and Rome offices, with a total of 726 solar panels installed.
Collectively, the two systems generate between 375 and 380 MWh of clean energy annually, contributing significantly to the reduction of energy consumption and emissions. The energy produced covers a significant portion of the buildings’ energy needs and powers high-efficiency systems, including an advanced electric air conditioning system, with tangible benefits in terms of environmental sustainability and indoor air quality.
Sustainable Mobility
In addition to infrastructure projects, NOVOMATIC Italia promotes initiatives aimed at encouraging sustainable behaviors in the daily lives of its employees.
Through the Commute Plan, currently in place at its Rome and Rimini offices, the company encourages alternative mobility solutions such as corporate carpooling, supported by financial incentives for those who share rides.
In particular, the “Bike to Work” project at the Rimini office, developed in collaboration with local authorities, encourages the use of bicycles for daily commutes, making a tangible contribution to reducing emissions and improving people’s well-being.In 2026, this commitment was recognised when FIAB – the Italian Environment and Cycling Federation – awarded the company the ‘Bike-Friendly Company’ certification at Silver level.
Additional initiatives include agreements for public transportation and shared mobility services, as well as training programs such as eco-driving courses, designed to promote a more efficient and sustainable driving style.
Culture and Responsibility
Going Green is also a cultural journey. NOVOMATIC Italia promotes the adoption of environmentally conscious behaviors through awareness-raising initiatives aimed at the entire workforce.
Among these, the “We Are Green” guide outlines ten simple daily actions to reduce environmental impact, while the “SOS Energia” program encourages the responsible use of energy and resources within the offices.
